Welcome to the SHIIGAW registration page. By joining SHIIGAW, you can keep informed of issues facing market, backyard and commercial mushroom growers -- issues that many of us cannot afford (in time and dollars) to keep abreast of. How do we do it ?

SHIIGAW has memberships with some of the professional trade publications and associations and is connected to the larger mushroom-growing world. We pull out relevant issues and include them for you. We try to keep a pulse on the trends of consumers (your customers!) as well as technological advances for growers. Historically, we ve focused on growing shiitake on natural logs and direct marketing of fresh mushrooms, and we continue to honor that. Plus, any money SHIIGAW is able to raise goes towards education and servicing your needs.

Do we cover only Wisconsin? No way! But we do pay special attention to events going on East of the Rockies to the Atlantic coast. By becoming a member of SHIIGAW, here's what you get:

• Three issues a year of The Small Farm Mushroom Monitor, a six-page newsletter for small commercial growers and backyard cultivators of specialty mushrooms. The publication features stories about mushroom-related topics, plus a mix of info about current events, updates on terminal market prices, meeting and workshop announcements concerning cultivation and wild mushrooming, mushroom recipes, book reviews and more! Also, these three issues include a Buy & Sell page.

• As a member, you can advertise the sale of mushroom-related equipment and products or place a want ad, free (subject to editorial review) in the Buy & Sell page.

• Members web page where you can post items for sale, see what other members have for sale and post messages on the member Bulletin Board.

• A discount on SHIIGAW meeting registration fees as well as on products sold thru the Shiigaw Store, posted on the website and in The Small Farm Mushroom Monitor.
